Bone Health and Osteoporosis: A Surgeon General's Report

The 2004 Surgeon General's Report on Bone Health and Osteoporosis was released on October 14, 2004 by The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Surgeon General's Office.  The report recognizes osteoporosis as a national health crisis in the United States. The report urges individuals of all ages to follow the strategies to promote healthy bones, encourages bone mineral density testing and treatment when appropriate.
